When & Where?

What About?
Patients may not be able to enjoy their birthday cake or gather with friends and family to celebrate and have fun on their birthdays. Birthday parties are held in the ward once a month to serve the need for patients to socialize, celebrate and to have a sense of normalcy of life. NUH Ward 88 Outpatient Children’s Play Corner

What About?
Upon diagnosis of their child, caregivers become absorbed in the day-to-day care arrangement for their child and often neglect self care. Chill-out Night aims to enhance their wellbeing and acknowledge their care giving efforts by offering them massage services and light snacks. To allow more caregivers to enjoy the massage service, it will be made available in the late afternoon. For more information, please contact Lavanya @ 6772 4471 or Eileen @ 6772 4489.

What About?
Hospital stay and treatment can be a threatening experience for children. Most of the time, children will be fearful, anxious and bored during hospitalization, and going back to hospital for treatment. Happy hour is a time where children can be involved in group activities to have fun, to promote bonding with other children, and their love ones. Happy hour also provides an outlet for children to express themselves and to better cope with treatment. For more information, please contact Cheryl @6394 3779.

What About?
During Treat Train, our inpatients and outpatients get to enjoy different snack treats and small gifts. It brings an element of surprise and cheer to the children. Topic for Educational Talk:
An Overview of Cancer Treatment

What About?
TCC serves as a platform for caregivers to come together to support each other and exchange useful tips during their child’s treatment. Caregivers of newly diagnosed children often struggle with the uncertainty of how to care for their child, which can be overcome when they have adequate knowledge of the illness and treatment. Hence, on alternate months, we invite other healthcare workers to conduct educational talks to equip them. TCC is open to caregivers of both inpatients and outpatients.
