What this book is about:
This is a child-friendly, easy-to-read book with basic textbook information about cancer. Its' informative and simple style will appeal to readers of all ages. It contains chapters on our healthy body, different types of cancer, the hospital in general (what will be done there, who you will meet there, etc..), tests made simple (for instance Bone Marrow Aspirate, Bone scan, CT scan and Spinal Tap. These are explained in simple terms with lots of pictures!) Other chapters like treatment options and dealing with side effects are also included. Although this is a child/teen-friendly book, it will be made friendlier if it is read together with an older sibling, parent or even a volunteer!

What this book is about:
This is a lovely story about how a jester wakes up one morning to find that his kingdom has no more laughter. He sets off with his friend and leaves his home to find laughter in the world. They realise that people do not want to laugh anymore because they find that the world is full of pain, which saddens the jester and his companion. One day they visit a little girl who is hospitalised, and end up performing silly things to make her laugh. Her laughter flows out of her window and soon everyone in the street is laughing away as well. With that, this laughter spread all across the world making people cheerful again. The moral of this story, "When you are feeling lonely, or sad, or bad or blue remember where laughter's hiding... it's hiding inside of You!"

It also provides very useful information on recommended dishes during days of chemotherapy, neutropenia, diarrhea, constipation, sore mouth and post treatment days. Although the recipes are somewhat 'westernised,' they offer fresh ideas for caregivers. Recipes include potato pizza, red beans and rice, chicken dumplings, pumpkin soup, tuna pasta salad, weight gain pancakes, yam veggie wraps and mock chocolate éclair. So parents and caregivers, cook up a storm with these easy recipes and lure your children back to the dining table!
