Financial Assistance

CCF Financial Assistance (FA) scheme was set up in 1996 to help families who are facing financial hardship. When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the family is faced with hefty medical expenses. CCF helps to ease the financial burden by providing financial counselling and assistance in cash or in-kind to needy families of children with cancer. The FA scheme includes food and maintenance, transport, medical cost and special school assistance.

CCF’s caseworker works with the family to explore ways to reduce financial stress. Besides helping the family to access financial assistance from CCF and other organisations, the caseworker will also link the family to other relevant resources available in the community.

Recipients of financial assistance are expected to demonstrate prudence and responsibility in managing their financial resources and carrying out an action plan as agreed with the caseworker.

Types of Financial Assistance:

Medical expenses for the treatment of cancer

Transport allowance for hospital appointments

Allowance for food and maintenance

Transplant expenses – Bone Marrow, Stem Cell, Cord Blood Transplant

Schooling expenses

Special diet and medical consumables/equipment
