For the first time, the world’s largest “Just Cut” hair salon
chain, QBNet International Pte Ltd, came onboard as the
Official Hairstylist for Hair for Hope 2015. Headquartered
in Japan, the first Singapore branch was set up in
2005 and now, the chain has more than 30 branches
island-wide.
Since its beginnings in Singapore, QB Net International
Pte Ltd has been seeking opportunities to contribute
to the Singapore community. Its Managing Director,
MrRyoji Furuya shares, “It isour pleasure toparticipate in
Hair for Hope as theOfficial Hairstylist.Although this is the
first time theQBGroup inSingapore is supportinga charity
event, I am confident that the teamwork andmotivation of
our hairstylistswill help tomakeHair for Hopea success.”
Over the two-day main event on 25 and 26 July 2015 at
VivoCity, 78 hairstylists volunteered their time and skills
to support the causeby shavingmore than3,000 shavees.
“Actions certainly speak louder than words and it is very
heartwarming to see people of different ages, genders,
races and nationalities coming together to shave for a
goodcause,” saysElvaChung,QB’sOperationsManager.
Inspired by the giving spirit of the Singapore QB
Group, eight hairstylists from Japan, Hong Kong and
Taiwan voluntarily travelled to Singapore on their own
expenses to help out with the shaving. Among them
were Japanese Miura Tsutomu, trainer, and Taiwanese
LiWanYen, supervisor, whowere based inTaiwan.

Miura Tsutomu shares, “I learnt from my colleague that
Singapore QB Group is supporting Hair for Hope as
the Official Hairstylist, and I am very motivated by the
team’s efforts. It is heartening to see the support from the
Singaporecommunity towardsCCFand theirbeneficiaries,
and I am honoured to bepart of thismeaningful event.”
Participating in a head-shaving charity event for the first
time, LiWanYen says, “I am very touched to see somany
participants shaving for Hair for Hope and I really admire
their courage for going bald to show their support for
childrenwith cancer.”
