Endof Treatment Party
On themorning of 30April 2016, 11CCF beneficiaries
and their families were greeted warmly by CCF
survivors, Stephanie and Ariffin, who volunteered to
be the emcees for the End of Treatment Party held on
that day! The day’s activities were planned around the
popular quote –
“Life is not only about waiting for
the storm to pass, it is about weathering through
the storm anddancing in the rain”!
After a roundof icebreakers, each familywas tasked to
paint their very own umbrella! It sounded like an easy
task at first but the families were thrown a curveball
when they were told to incorporate the strengths of
every family member into the umbrella design. The
activity gave the families the opportunity to reflect
on each other’s strengths. It was touching to see
family members exchange knowing looks and being
appreciative of each other.
Next was the highly anticipated traditional trophy
presentation ceremony! The trophies were presented
to the young beneficiaries by their caregivers to
celebrate the end of treatment milestone. There were
many heartwarming moments as caregivers took the
opportunity to commend their child for their bravery
and perseverance. Words of encouragement were
alsoexchangedbetween families. Needless to say, the
trophy recipients were the happiest participants that
day as everyone felt like awinner!
The party ended with a buffet lunch for all. CCF
would like to thank the beneficiaries, caregivers and
volunteers for making this End of Treatment Party an
enjoyable and successful one!
