To provide the childrenwith unique and innovative learning
opportunities, volunteer instructors from Avenue Learn
EducationHub conductedaLEGO®Roboticsworkshopon
8 March 2016 for CCF beneficiaries at CCF@NUH. They
provided thechildrenwitha rewardingexperience inbuilding
and constructing robots. Though the task was challenging
for the children, with the guidance of our volunteers and
instructors, the childrenwere able to complete and test out
their ideas. Through this activity, the children learnt to be
creative in findingways to build their robots.
Drama andSkit Performance
at CCF@NUH
On 1 March 2016, a team of talented and passionate
drama performers from Evolve Arts Singapore
volunteered their time to perform an entertaining skit
combining the stories of Little Red Riding Hood and
The Three Little Pigs for our children at NUH! The
children watched attentively and laughed heartily at
the interesting plot brought alive by the entertaining
performers! The realistic and engaging presentation of
the skit brought broad smiles to the children.

In memory and honour of her son, Nils Berggren, Lesli
and her family organised the first ever Toy Box Drive
at CCF@NUH. Nils, who was diagnosed with Stage 4
Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer,
passed away in 2014 from graft-versus-host disease, a
complication which occurred after his stem cell transplant.
Lesli remembered how happy it madeNil feel whenever he
received gifts from friends and family members during his
hospitalisation.
On 5 February 2016, Lesli, Claire (Nil’s twin sister) and
their close family members and friends transformed
the CCF playroom and Ward 8B into a mini wonderland
stocked with toys, games, crafts and gifts! Through this
activity, Lesli hoped to spread joy to the children and their
caregivers at the ward. The wide smiles on the children’s
faceswere priceless and the caregiverswere also touched
by their words of encouragement. Thank you Lesli, Claire
and their family members and friends for spreading love
and kindness to the children at NUH!
