CCF Tribute Issue 2 2016 - page 15

Tulips are beautiful flowers but for the beneficiaries at CCF,
they represent hope and tenacity. On 7 April 2016, 11 CCF
beneficiaries and their families joined staff and volunteers from
Gardens by the Bay (GBTB) for a tulip-bulb planting session.
Theyput the finishing touches to the “Tulipmania” floral display in
theFlower Dome by helping toplant more than 100 tulipbulbs!
It was heartening to see how excited the children and their
caregiverswere about tulip planting! Theywere not afraid to get
dirty and eagerly rolled up their sleeves, much to the surprise of
GBTB staff and volunteers!
The group then toured the Flower Dome and the Outdoor
Gardens, learning more about the unique and diverse world
of plantsaround them. Thiswas followedby light refreshments
at McDonalds before the beneficiaries and their families
headed home.
