100Days
of Cycling
As a father of three children, I understand the
importance of early childhood development in shaping
a child’s future. Our job as adults is to open as many
doors for our children as possible. I am glad that CCF
has been rendering the necessary support to children
and families affected by childhood cancer. However,
I wanted to challengemyself and see if I couldmake a
difference for them too. Hence, I decided to embark on
a 100-day riding challenge to fundraise for CCF.
Ridingevery day for 100days from1 January to9April
2016 wasmorementally than physically challenging. I
remember that onday17and83, I felt verydrainedand
I was lacking the motivation. These moments lasted
for as long as five days at a time. However, I am very
glad that I persistedandmanaged tocover about 4,300
kilometres. I even lost nine kilograms in bodyweight!
The other challenge was raising donations in support
of my fundraiser. It was much harder to get people to
donate than I thought! I was not worried though as
I knew that the donations would steadily increase as
long as I kept riding. I am glad to have raised a total of
$5,940.29 for CCF.

Cambridge
CharityWalk
As Aristotle once said, “Educating the mind without
educating the heart is no education at all”. With these
inspiring words in mind, Cambridge Pre-schools
organisedacharitywalk to raise funds insupport ofCCF.
“We want to inculcate the right values in our children
and show them that everyone can do their part to help
the less fortunate,” said Ms Cynthia Lee, head of the
organising committee.
The event whichwas held at Bishan –AngMo Kio Park
kicked off with amass aerobics warm-up exercise. This
was followed by a walk around the park and it was
heartening to see young children walking earnestly
alongside their families.
The charity walk raised $11,024.42 for CCF. More
importantly, the children learnt a lessonon kindness and
had an enjoyablemorning of healthy fun.
“I wanted to help children suffering from cancer.”

MinionClay–MouldingWorkshop
On 28 March 2016, volunteers from Visa organised a Minion
Clay-Moulding Workshop for 15 CCF beneficiaries and their
families. With the help of Mr Han, a very entertaining craft
instructor from HansArt, Visa volunteers kept the children
engaged, moulding and kneading different coloured clays to
make their very own clay minions. The beneficiaries and their
families were also treated to an afternoon tea spread after the
event aswell!
At the end of the workshop, the children went home with their
clayminions, personalisedballoon sculpturesandgoodiebags,
